The bill prohibits the sale of personal care and hygiene products that contain it, which according to the FDA, an estimated 75% of soaps and body washes boasting antibacterial properties do contain. Triclosan, a known endocrine-disruptor, can also be found in such products as toothpaste, deodorant and hand sanitizers, as well as cleaning products, dish and laundry soaps, and other household staples.
