Let’s Party and Help Take Down Breast Cancer This Month

This month, Norwex® will be adding another color to its philosophy of “living green.” We’ll also be “thinking pink,” as part of our annual campaign to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

And that’s cause for a party. In fact, 50,000 of them—this year’s “Party for a Cause” goal. For every Norwex Party that North American Consultants hold in October, the company will donate $1 to the Norwex Foundation for a Brighter Future. The final amount will be shared by four breast cancer organizations devoted to the treatment of a disease that affects one in eight women:

  • Cancer Hope Network
  • The Bridge Breast Network
  • Breast Cancer Society of Canada
  • Breast Cancer Research Foundation

Check out these eye-opening stats. In 2021, the American Cancer Society estimates about 281,550 new cases will be diagnosed in the United States; of those, 43,600 will die. And while there is cause for optimism—survival rates are up, thanks to early screening, increased awareness and more effective treatments—the overall incidence of breast cancer is projected to double globally by 2040.

Solutions include rethinking many of our everyday choices and habits—in short, being “more careful of what we eat, drink, breathe, take and use from the kitchen, pantry, cleaning shelf and medicine chest,” according to Breastcancer.org.

At Norwex, our Mission aligns perfectly. By radically reducing chemicals in our homes now, we can improve quality of life. Plus, any lifestyle changes we make today can lower our risks for ourselves and our families tomorrow.

Here are some ways to Live Green, Think Pink:

Be aware of what’s in your personal care products—and what’s not. Two groups of chemicals studied for links to breast cancer include parabens, commonly used as preservatives in many cosmetic and grooming products, and phthalates, a component in some personal care fragrances. Norwex’s ultra-clean formulas are not only stringently tested for safety and efficacy—more than 2,700 substances are actually banned from our development process.

Choose eco-friendly, chemical-free household products. You don’t have to sacrifice a clean home for a healthy one. Did you know that up to 45 different chemicals have been identified in household dust alone?* Instead of adding even more chemicals to the mix, rely on Norwex to deliver plant- and enzyme-powered solutions that are effective, safe and sustainable.

Do your part—and lead by example. Norwex Consultants and Customers alike are already making a difference, keeping both their homes and the planet safer. Plus, throughout October, your efforts will be doubly rewarded—you’ll also be supporting Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

There’s never been a better time or reason to get this party started.

“Party for a Cause” is just one of the initiatives of the Norwex Foundation for a Brighter Future, dedicated to creating brighter futures for our communities, our environments and future generations. Established in 2017, the foundation carries out that commitment through myriad programs: grassroots charitable grants to local organizations nominated by Norwex Consultants; charitable partnerships with organizations impacting global environmental change; and Norwex Cares Disaster Kits, containing cleaning products for families and organizations impacted by natural disasters.
