A startup company in India, Graviky Labs, has come up with a way to turn car emissions into ink. Just 45 minutes worth of car exhaust fumes can create 30 ml of ink, enough for one marker pen. A device developed by the MIT spin-off company traps car exhaust and can be scaled to fit onto boats, chimneys, cranes and brick kilns. From the exhaust, the company has developed “Air-Ink,” which artists are now using in a variety of ways—all with a goal of more art and less pollution.
Granted, marker pens sourced from car exhaust are just a small step toward solving our air pollution problems, but still it’s an innovative concept! What other things can you think of to help reduce air pollution? Let us know in the comments below!Resources:

I’m replying to this post simply because I couldn’t find another place my message might fit. I use lithium-powered landscaping tools in my landscape to keep down emissions. I couldn’t get one of my batteries to charge. While relaxing one afternoon, the thought “Why don’t you try a Norwex cloth to clean the contacts on the battery and charger?” Since I had nothing to lose, and wasn’t sure if it was my battery or charger and didn’t really want to spend $174 for a new battery not knowing if I’d have to eventually have to replace the charger or not, I decided to use a moist general purpose cloth to get dirt/grime off the contacts – then finished off with the mirror cloth (the contacts are shiny). Plugged up my charger – placed the battery in position . . .and wow, it began charging immediately and shortly, it was fully charged!!!
